Evolution: the Scientific Lie
The theory of evolution has been hailed by scientists as the accepted truth of the origins of all life. Evolution is currently being taught in our public schools. It brings confusion to our children about the origins of life and the very existence of God. The purpose of this newsletter is to equip students and parents to stand against the lying theory of evolution.
There are many scientists who believe that only evolution is scientific. Despite the evidence of creation, evolutionists, believe creation is just some “blind faith.” Evolutionists claim that only evolution is supported by facts and open to study by the scientific method of observation and experimentation. Well, let us see whether evolution really is supported by facts and science.
What is Evolution?
Webster’s II Riverside University dictionary defines evolution as a gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually better or more complex form. Keep in mind that the word different constitutes a major change (from simple to complex). Many claims are published by people who know that only minor changes can be proven and fail to distinguish between microevolution and macroevolution. Microevolution refers to the minor changes and macroevolution being major changes. From now on the “evolution” will be used to mean the general theory of evolution – macroevolution, unless otherwise indicated.
Evolution’s Stumbling Blocks
The general theory of evolution contradicts some basic laws of science. Harold Coffin of the *Geoscience Research Institute and professor of paleontology at Andrews University, Berriren Springs, Michigan shares, “In all recorded history, in all the experience of man, past and present, there has never once been a documented observation or laboratory experiment of the change of nonliving matter into a living organism.” Yet the method of operation that drives science involves observation and experimentation. Evolution involves none of these. The evolution theory has also offended one of the most fundamental laws of biology. That states life must come from life. It does not sound as “scientific” as it claims.
The theory of evolution requires gradual change from simple to complex, from one kind of organism to another. Organisms do change. We can see many modern breeds of dogs and the new colors of roses that appear regularly. But to say that such minor changes accumulate into major differences just lacks the evidence. This is also contrary to another basic law of life that offspring are like their parents. A dog is still a dog and a black rose is still a rose.
Along with contradicting the basic laws of science, evolution also lacks evidence to support its most basic claims. Since minor change (microevolution) is not the issue (both creation and evolution agree on it), we must look for evidence of major change from one basic kind to another. If all modern humans, plants and animals evolved from common ancestors through many long series of gradual transitions, there should be evidence living today for a continuous chain of life. We should still be evolving into something else. Not just one link but many links are missing from the so called “evolutionary chain.” Of course, there are stories of people finding missing links (alive and deceased), but these stories have no physical evidence to support them.
Evolutionists would argue that there is no continuous chain because many connecting forms (missing links) of life are now extinct. This would be a good argument if there were no such things as fossils. Fossils provide a record of the past concerning nature. If evolution has taken place, fossils would reveal it; if not fossils will refute the theory. The study of fossils has clearly shown an absence of connecting links. Even Charles Darwin the author of the evolution theory was aware of this problem.
Lack of ancestors and connecting links has been so disturbing to evolutionists, that various secondary theories were developed to account for it. Secondary theories such as the saltation, explosive evolution and punctuated equilibria theories make hopeless attempts at explaining the inconsistencies between fossil records and evolution. Please note that these theories would never have arisen if the need to explain evolution’s inconsistencies did not exist. I believe these theories were made by people making every attempt not to acknowledge the Almighty Creator.
Divine Design
Design in living things has long been used as a strong argument for creation and against evolution. Darwin once said that the contemplation of the human eye gave him a cold shudder.
When we look at D.N.A., we realize that D.N.A. has a signature for each individual that determines their hereditary characteristics. To deny this being design is simply to deny logic.
Anthropologists may find arrowheads, scrapers or other simple man-made objects of the past. Scrapers are stones with one sharp edge and difficult to distinguish from naturally broken stones. After careful observation of wear patterns and the intended cutting edge, the investigator can conclude that human design was involved. It is interesting that many scientists use design in identifying manmade objects, but refuse to use it for objects not made by man.
The theory of evolution is neither true science nor is it supported by facts. It is not true science because there is no way to observe what happened at the beginning and no way to repeat it in the laboratory. Basically, the evolution theory can be called the evolution faith. It takes faith to believe in something that you cannot see. Faith is needed to believe in evolution when all nature testifies of God. Romans 1:20 says, “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” Further evidence of the Creator is in the very conscience of humans, we know right & wrong. Romans 2:14-15 says, “For when the Gentile, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another.” Although they are unbelievers, the mere fact that they have moral values is evidence that the law has been written in their heart.
Evolutionists must be loved. When God grants us the opportunity, we should share the love of Jesus Christ with them. They are lost souls in need of the Savior. So, we must be meek and loving with all the knowledge that God gives us. Blessed Be the Name of the Lord.
