What TLBC Believes

Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Savior that our Heavenly Father has appointed to save mankind from the penalty of their sin (John 3:16, 14:6).  The death of Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins, as we have placed our faith in Him (Rom. 6:23).  His resurrection from the dead justified our faith. Therefore, we believe that Jesus Christ did all the work required to save our souls, any other work to be saved would be futile.  We also believe that Jesus Christ is the LORD (Phil. 2:5-11).  Therefore, He has a right to have first priority in our lives, decisions, world views, families, etc.

The Holy Bible is the Word of God. We believe the Word of God, the Bible is the God breathed, God inspired truth that reveals God’s purpose, plan and love for mankind (II Tim. 3:16).  Therefore, the TLBC bases its ministry on what God’s Word teaches.  The Bible has answers for every aspect of life.  We believe, as we apply God’s Word in our lives and submit to His Spirit, we can rise above the things that would attempt to bind us in sin, depression, addiction, and even poverty.

Christians are called to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ our Lord has given every Christian the mission of sharing the gospel, the good news that JESUS SAVES (Matt. 28:18-20).  The Lord Jesus Christ lived the perfect life, died on a Roman cross for our sins, was resurrected bodily from the dead and is coming back again.  He now invites everyone, everywhere to become part of the true family of God by placing their faith in His finished work on the cross.  Christ offers the forgiveness of sins, a new start and a personal relationship with Him (II Cor. 5:17).  We believe real transformation begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, Who strengthens us.  Christians have the privilege of sharing this wonderful message with the whole world.

Christians are called to assemble together to build up each other. We believe that every true Christian is to be a dynamic part of a local church.  Every Christian has been given talents and spiritual gifts that we are to use to build each other up in the faith (Heb. 10:24-25).  By doing so, we help each other to become better Christians and live better lives.  As we become stronger, we can strengthen our families, our communities, our cities, etc.
